Transform Your Relationship with Intensive Therapy
A Focused, High-Impact Approach to Couples Therapy
A couples intensive is a concentrated therapy experience designed to help you make meaningful progress in a shorter period of time than traditional weekly sessions often allow. Rather than spreading the work across months of one-hour appointments, an intensive creates the space to step out of old patterns, slow the process down, and give your relationship the focused attention it deserves.
For couples who feel stuck, discouraged, or at a crossroads, this format can offer the depth, momentum, and clarity needed to begin moving forward.

What Is a Couples Intensive?
My couples intensives are offered over three days, with sessions running from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day, along with a break for lunch in the middle of the day.
Most intensives are scheduled Friday through Sunday, allowing couples to step away from their usual routines and focus fully on the work. In some cases, weekday intensive options are also available.
This structure creates a more immersive and productive experience than traditional weekly therapy. Instead of trying to address painful or deeply rooted issues one hour at a time, couples have the opportunity to stay with the process long enough to build meaningful traction.
Why Choose an Intensive?
More Progress in Less Time
A focused, immersive format allows couples to accomplish in days what can otherwise take months to address in weekly therapy.
Sustained Momentum
Without long gaps between sessions, couples are able to stay engaged in the work and build on insights in real time.
Deeper Understanding
Extended sessions create room to move beyond surface-level conflict and address the deeper patterns underneath.
Why This Format Works
An intensive is not simply “more therapy.” It is a different therapeutic container.
When couples are given the time to stay with the process, patterns become easier to identify, deeper issues have more room to emerge, and meaningful interventions can happen without being cut short by the clock. There is time not only to uncover what is going wrong, but also to begin practicing something different.
This format is especially helpful for couples who:
-
feel caught in the same painful cycle
-
have tried weekly therapy without the progress they hoped for
-
are facing significant conflict, distance, or uncertainty
-
want a more focused and transformative experience
-
are highly motivated for change
Is a Couples Intensive Right for You?
A couples intensive may be a strong fit if you are ready to step out of old patterns and give your relationship focused, meaningful attention. You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. But it does help to come in with openness, honesty, and a willingness to engage the work seriously.
If you are looking for a more concentrated, high-impact approach to couples therapy, an intensive may be the right next step.
Relational Life Therapy and Couples Intensives
My work is grounded in Relational Life Therapy (RLT), an approach that is particularly well suited to intensive couples work.
RLT is a direct, active, and deeply relational model that helps couples understand the dynamic they are caught in and begin changing it. Rather than staying at the level of insight alone, RLT addresses the actual patterns, defenses, and relational strategies that keep partners stuck.
In an intensive format, this approach becomes especially powerful.
Because we have extended time together, there is more opportunity to identify the cycle you are living in, explore what drives it, and work toward a more honest, accountable, and connected way of relating. Instead of spending weeks slowly piecing things together, we can often see the relational pattern more clearly and begin addressing it in a concentrated way.
